Job Description
Job SummaryThe Proposal Writer is responsible for creating,
revising, and editing proposal content that supports Molinas
response to Requests for Proposal (RFP). Supports the development
of response-focused, compelling, and technically accurate content
for government sponsored managed care programs or health care
related areas to produce a fully compliant and responsive winning
proposal. Ensures that the content complies with each RFP
requirement and accurately translates technical knowledge and
requirements into clear, concise communications, while emphasizing
Molinas business value. Execute tasks with support and direction
from leadership to achieve goals to win, expand, and retain
businessIdeal candidates would have experience writing content in
areas such as Clinical/Care Management, Provider Network, Quality
and/or Behavioral Health within a healthcare/managed
care/government regulated environment.
Job DutiesDevelops understanding of company, Medicaid / government
business and the RFP process to create responses that accurately
represent capabilities
Collaborates with subject matter experts to draft substantive and
persuasive responses for Requests for Proposal (RFP) or Requests
for Information (RFI), including writing new content, performing
independent research, editing, and working with a graphic artist
and data analyst to create charts / illustrations
Review request for proposals (RFPs) and related documents furnished
by the procuring agency; analyze RFP to understand and capture
specific operational, administrative and proposal requirements.
Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) in business functions
throughout the organization to determine operational approach to
satisfy the requirements of the RFx
Ensures RFx responses are structured and organized in a compliant
manner with appropriate headers, sub headers and details
Prepare concise, thoughtful, and accurate written responses and
assemble supporting documentation for each assigned area, within
style guide requirements and in accordance with RFx guidelines and
timeline
Meets tight timelines with multiple revisions of proposal sections
as needed and ensures that sections maintain a consistent tone or
voice
Participate in individual and group proposal review sessions with
senior leadership and other key individuals; incorporate changes
and improvements to proposals
Support proposal capture and strategy activities to develop
pre-proposal content
Review competitor proposals to identify opportunities to
continuously improve writing quality, response
structure/organization, graphics, call-out boxes, data points and
differentiate Molina messaging
Participate in individual and group proposal review sessions with
senior leadership and other key individuals; incorporate changes
and improvements to proposals
Assists in various projects for the department.
Job Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelors Degree in journalism, Marketing, Communications, English
or similar field of study or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Required Experience
3+ years writing experience
Demonstrated solid business writing and editing skills, proficient
user of Microsoft Word
Project management experience
Preferred Experience
Experience in government proposals and/or healthcare writing
Technical Writing certification
Fluency in a second language is highly desirable.
