Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: PCU RN - Stepdown Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Valid driver's license for verification to meet distance requirements Job Description: - Work in a high-flow unit with 28 beds, providing care for adults with mixed medical/surgical diagnoses, including cardiac and stroke patients. - Responsible for titrating drips, including Heparin, Octreotide, and Insulin. - Collaborate with a charge nurse available on each shift who also takes on patient assignments. - Partner with nurse aides/patient care techs with a ratio of 1:14. - Utilize specialty equipment like code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lifts, and Sit and Stand devices. - Interpret telemetry/monitor readings as no dedicated tele/monitor techs are present. - Adhere to shifts and scheduling patterns from 1830-0700, with a six-week schedule period. - Work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff. - Be prepared to float to Med/Surg, ICU, and ED, among other areas, based on abilities and patient care requirements. - Follow the dress code of navy blue scrubs. - Participate in a comprehensive orientation that includes a week in the classroom and two 12-hour unit/department-specific shifts. - Work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges. - Collaborate with unit secretaries two to three days a week and a stocking clerk three days a week.
