  • Common Patient Diagnosis: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, weakness
  • Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin
  • Unit Challenges: Staffing
  • Patient Experience challenges/focus: hourly rounding and responsiveness
  • Qualities for hires: A nurse on this unit is successful when he or she can manage the business of the day. The unit is a tight knit group and are great with helping each other out.
    • Job Requirements
    • Required certs: ACLS, BLS
    • RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts: 12 hour
      • Shift times: 0630-1830, 1830-0630
      • Weekend requirements: minimum of every 3rd weekend
      • Self schedule, cyclic scheduling

        • Specialty Equipment Available: Mechanical lifts in every other room
        • Nursing Assistant support: Yes
        • Charge nurse: yes
        • Additional unit support staff: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, PT, OT
          • Additional Details
          • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
          • Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
